During their stay at the shelter, animals are socialized through volunteer programs to make them more adoptable, as well as happier and more content while they await a new, permanent home. No animal of any age is allowed to leave the shelter without first being spayed or neutered, as well as vaccinated, tested for certain diseases, and other treatments deemed necessary to get them ready for their new homes. HSIMC is not affiliated with the national chapter of the Humane Society, nor do we receive any funding from that organization. The

in Redwood Valley.
